Our Play Grade Wood Chippings provide a safe, durable, and attractive surface solution for children’s play areas and landscaping projects. Produced from a blend of hardwood species graded between 5–30mm, these long-lasting wood chippings are compliant with BS EN 1177:1998 when installed to the recommended depth.
Designed to absorb impact and provide a softer landing surface, play grade wood chippings are ideal for schools, playgrounds, parks, and domestic play areas. Their natural light brown colour and pleasant woodland aroma also make them a popular decorative alternative to traditional bark mulch or aggregates in general landscaping applications.

Typical Coverage
One tonne of Play Grade Wood Chippings will typically cover approximately:
• 12–14m² at 50mm depth
• 6–7m² at 100mm depth
For play area safety surfacing, we recommend installation depths in accordance with BS EN 1177:1998 guidelines.
